Art Play London has joined the Real Precious Plastic Community which means can now turn your plastic into art! We have set up a plastic collection point where once collected, your plastic can be shredded and melted into something useful. Plastic waste is a huge problem; it is estimated that 12 million tonnes of plastic enters our ocean each year. That's roughly one entire truck-full of plastic thrown into the sea every minute!

Facts About Plastic:

1. Each year enough plastic is thrown away to span around the earth four times.

2. It takes up to 500 years for plastic to fully decompose.

3. We make and use 20 times more plastic today than we did 50 years ago.

4. We recycle just 45% of the plastic we use in the UK.

5. Plastic items that end up in our oceans, such as carrier bags and plastic bottles, kill around 1,000,000 sea creatures every year.
